Crabbing for king crab can be a challenge, but the payoff is worth it. Finding productive ground is only part of it—you also have to contend
with lost gear, theft, weather, and everything else Southeast Alaska can throw at you.
Years ago, I bought this style of pot and fished it successfully until one day I went to pull it and it was gone.
I looked around Juneau for a replacement, but nobody was building them.
So I did the sensible thing: I built one myself.
It worked. I had material left over, so I built a few more and offered them for sale. Turns out other people were looking for them too.
So I kept building them.
